This is a quick, non invasive exam to evaluate the amount of calcified plaque in your heart vessels. The level of calcium equals the extent of plaque buildup in your arteries. Plaque in the arteries can cause a heart attack. The information obtained from this exam can determine your risk and if you have coronary artery disease. A score between 100 and 300 means moderate risk. A score above 300 is a sign of very high risk of a heart attack.
